Princess Cruises set up a Department of Romance, which includes Gavin McLeod (Captain Stubing of the old Love Boat series). It was McLeod who informed the winner, Phil Roberts of his prize.
Phil Roberts is a minister by profession and a married father of four. You can see how he proposed to his wife in his video entry.
Being actively involved in his work as a Christian minister and several charities (including the Lexington, Kentucky Ronald McDonald House and Project Seashore), not to mention having four kids, has left Phil and his wife little opportunity for date night much less romance.
Prize for being the "Greatest Romantic" is a free cruise from Princess. According to Phil, this will be the first vacation he and his wife have ever taken together (without kids). |
